Recheck your sources, that should be my new motto.
Mira came in today in the morning. She’d told me that she’d be in around 11:35 but I checked the flight in the spiffy Sherlock Flights channel and it said 11:24. It also pulled up all sorts of other cool info, including a tiny map showing an icon of the plane. It was so cool that I forgot to leave, so it was a bit of a rush to get out there.
We had lunch at Cozy Thai (noodles panang, mmm) and then I showed her 614. Then we went for a walk by the lake, as we used to do when we were here at nerd camp, 9 years ago. I can’t believe we’ve been friends for so long, especially since I don’t talk to anyone from CTD anymore except for her.
We didn’t talk as much this past year as we used to. But seeing her today (first time in 3 years) was like seeing a favorite relative from overseas.
More rechecking of sources: I’d assumed that Kuwie had purchased SOCOM from Best Buy (cuz that’s what I thought he said) but really it was from EBX. So I went out to get it tonight. It’s funny because I usually feel that EBX is evil because of their preorder system (but more for their 5$ premiums). But hey, I got the game today, so I guess my morals in videogame land are flexible. I can’t play the game because Rick is watching Law and Order (he’s a tad addicted) but I’m waiting… patiently…
Finally, I emailed the guy in charge of the job that I really want at the NU Library (spiff webmaster position) and he told me that interviews would commence in late December. That really freaked me out so I started looking for other NU jobs on the HR site when he emailed back and told me that he’d made a typo… he meant late September. So I don’t have to find new job openings just yet.
