I have a room! Finally!
It’s messy, and there are boxes everywhere making navigation difficult… but it’s mine. It’s blue. It’s spiff.
I was going to get all my computers up and running last night but we had this power outage (just in our apartment) which lasted all night. So, instead, we sat around by the one light that worked in the kitchen and built Kuwie’s furniture for his room. It was a really full day. We painted three rooms and moved 1.75 rooms worth of stuff around so perhaps the power outage gave us the downtime we needed not to, you know, die.
It got fixed this morning, but I’m still not up and running because Kuwie and I and his ex girlfriend went to IKEA to load up on furnishings. My room is sorta dark, so I got lights and also a shelf. We also got some furniture for the main room. You know, i don’t hate IKEA, but after 2 hours in that store, I go nuts.
I think it’s because imagining can be really mentally draining and while in that store, you’re continually using your brain to make swaps for colors and placement choices in a room 30 miles away and after some time, that just turns into a burning itch in the brain.
But hey, the stuff is cheap.
It’s so evil, that store. There’s stuff there that you can’t find in the catalog so that you have to go to the store and probably buy more stuff while you’re there. And the cheapness promotes buying frenzies. That was me last yet. I’ve learned my lesson. I just bought a shelf. And a light. Wait, 2 lights. And some side tables.
