Contrary to popular Kipinion, I’m not a complete lump. I like climbing because it seems like a good thing to know. I’m into sports that stem from survival activities like swimming away from sharks or running from tigers or… climbing away from monkeys. Maybe I should run from monkeys and climb from tigers. Oh wait, Shere Khan could climb, couldn’t he?
Let me rethink this predator thing.
I’ve always felt that biathlon is a nice sport. It involved guns, which are the natural enemy of large predators. I wonder if the sport will be the same after energy weapons, though; can you imagine the 2194 Winter Games featuring both Modern (magneto-electric skis and charged particle pulse arms) and Traditional (wooden skis and gunpowder rifles). Never fear a monkey again.
