Birthing Pains

Posted on Friday 21 February 2003

You know, sometimes I just get totally sidetracked from my main project goals as I chase rabbits down endless hallways.

Case in point: the whole bitmap -> vector thing. After wrestling the entire day with autotrace and frontline and fink, I found myself about to write my own frontend in AppleScript. As I looked through example code and documentation, I felt like I was on the peak of this rollercoaster ride into pain and frustration.

When really this is all about making comics, right? And having fun? And what material was I coming up with for strips, besides hating compilers and package managers? Nothing that you guys would want to read. Or I’d really like to write. So I took a step back, cooled off a bit, and did some old fashioned brainstorming. I still don’t have real strips made, but at least my concept is slightly more defined (ie, more than just having a bunny).
