I haven’t been able to make trivia in a month due to storytelling and other shtuff going on. Then I went last week to find that it had been cancelled. This week, we actually coordinated the team.
1800 was packed when I got there. Seats were in high demand. We had to steal a chair for Alden, who was sitting on a mail crate (yeah federal offenses).
The team was again Alden, Bryan, Matt, Mark, and me. Joining us was Megan, Mark’s fiance. Team name: Northbrook Varsity Powder Puff. Yeah, current events.
The first round, we missed “What is the seventh commandment?” which really annoyed me since all those years of theology in high school just fell through, you know? Mark had the right answer, but didn’t know it was right, so we went with “Thou shalt not kill.”
The next couple rounds, I wasn’t that helpful. But I stepped up to the plate to identify a child picture of Chyrsta Kreuk from Smallville in round 4.
We all had a shining moment, somewhere. Matt knew what “radar” stood for. Witte got the temperature where Celsius and Fahrenheit converge (-40). And Bryan knew the two old Muppets in the balcony (Statler and Waldorf).
We had some competition in the beginning from different teams but slowly, we pulled away to win by 4 points.
The pot was $277 dollars. Each of us took $45 and the rest went towards victory beer. Then we made plans to do it again next week.
