The Rebel Sell

This is an article about a book about how being anticonsumerist is really just feeding consumerism. My brain hurts.

I love the link following the article:

The Rebel Sell will appear in book-length this September from HarperCollins. Click here to order a copy.

Pretty good article! Thanks for posting it, Justin. I highly recommend reading Thomas Frank, though some of his books can be really dense (I’ve barely been able to get through the first chapter of One Market Under God). I’m pretty sure the article is referencing The Conquest of Cool.

AlanK: Heath and Potter take inspiration from Thomas Frank’s “The Conquest of Cool”, but their book is “The Rebel Sell” in Canada and “Nation of Rebels” (some book, different title) in the US.
