scrawl

Posted on Wednesday 16 February 2005

As I scrawl this entry into my spiffy newTablet PC, I’m struck by how natural keyboards have become. I’d be friggin done with the entry if I didn’t have to stop every so often for the recognizer area to clear so that I can continue scrawling. And yet, there’s something about seeing my words, first inky smooth, then transforming into the clean lines of type. It starts to feel like I’m penning a personal letter. I still don’t believe that tablets are the future of serious computing. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve become commonplace in 10 or 15 years as note taking doodads. So, in short, I’m glad I didn’t pay too much for this glimpse of what’s to come. But it’s still pretty sweet.

Interesting topic… I’m working in this industry myself and I don’t agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future
