Friday: El and I had dinner with my brother at Koi. Mmmm, sushi.

Saturday: Rick came into town around 4 ish. I picked him up from the airport and we chilled out a bit. He logged in as Adam on Xbox Live and we did some training. It was really funny to hear the people we were playing with freak out over the level 24 in the room and then mock him after the game (he had a couple no kill games).

We went to the Hopleaf that night. Standard Hopleafness.

Sunday: Woke up in the morning and threw some clothes into a duffel and drove up to Milwaukee for my nephew’s christening. It was at Gesu (the big Catholic church by Marquette U). We went to the mass before hand and I entertained nephew #1 by putting my hand in a hymnal while he tried to slam it closed. The resounding echoes were very satisfying to a 2 yr old. Nephew #2 got the water and the oil on his head and we headed up to my sister’s for the post baptismal party.

The weather was looking pretty grim as I drove up. My brother and cousin Darren and I were the first to arrive to see my sister’s brand new playset in the side yard. Wow. This thing is so cool. 3 swings, a slide, a trapeze, tire swing and a climbing wall. My dad went home to change before arriving so that he could play on it. Where was my climbing wall growing up???

Then we had amazing amounts of food. My new godsister Hui Chin made grilled bananas wrapped in bacon. Mmm. There were also copious brats and burgers. And the sun came out. Party raged for a couple hours. Afterward, my parents took Darren out to dinner with Chin and my sister. I stayed back with Devin and we played video games for a while.

I went home to meet up with Rick and Sheila again, but they bailed. Jason bailed as well, since he had to pack and he wasn’t feeling so hot. So Chin and I went to Krispy Kreme to grab a dozen donuts and make my parents fat.

Monday: Mom guilted me into waking up at 6:45 to have breakfast with Darren before he left. We went to the pancake house, but my stomach was still recovering from the previous day’s workout, so I ate sparingly. I helped Chin load up her car for her drive down to Springfield (her boy is down there). Then I left to help Jason move.

I made sure to enlist Rick’s help for the move, to avoid screwing up my wrists. It really wasn’t too horrible, since we had dollys and a ramp and an elevator. Since my building has only stairs, I pledged to hire movers when I go in August. His new place is in this converted brewery, so that’s pretty cool.

After, Jason and I went to Rick’s house for cookout #2. Rick’s family is so cool. I played rummy with his little brother and Sheila (it was nice to be able to play to win at cards, unlike when I play with Kaylin).
