I'm terrible at buying cards. I always am tempted to just get blanks and write my own stuff inside. But I never do. When I was buying my nephew's belated first birthday card, I was struck by the permutations thought up by those card writers. Craziness, I tell you.

Oooh - secret crush! This could get good. As for cards for every occasion, I knew I had seen it all when I saw cards a while ago meant for a woman to send out announcing that her divorce was final. None of the permutations of "To X from Y on the occasion of Z" has topped that one yet. I suppose the card wasn't really gender specific, but it wasn't something that I could see a guy choosing to send out. I'm sure they have cards for guys in a more masculine theme too. Bleah.
