6/13/2001: Sil returns! This update comes from my dad's computer and my hometown. Last night, we had an incredible storm. Thunder, lightning, tornado watches andwarnings, sirens, the whole bit. It was quite impressive. The TV weatherman kept saying "hurricane force winds" over and over again. I guess he doesn't get to say that a lot. Once again, I was impressed by the amount of computer toys that weathermen have to play with during such events. After the storm passed to he southeast, you could tell that they were just milking it for all it was worth. I mentioned You Damn Kid a couple months ago... well, I was surprised today to receive in my inbox a note from the author saying that he apologized for not replying sooner and he sent me this little tidbit: Words can't really express my joy at seeing this. So I won't even try. I'm going to buy a Gameboy Advance today. Well, that's when retail stores around here are getting them. I'm not taking my PS2 to California for the summer so really this will be my only videogame outlet for the next 10 weeks. Plus for the flight out there, etc. Yeah, Gameboy Advance will be cool. Games I'm definitely getting: Chu Chu Rocket and Tony Hawk 2. Games I'm trying to decide between: F-Zero or Konami Racers, Rayman or Castlevania, Super Dodge Ball or the older Mario Tennis from GBC. Any recommendations? Today's song is from this movie, Electric Dreams. It's about a computer who falls in love with a girl. This is one of those movies I remember as being much better than it was. My brother and sister really liked it back in the 80's and so I thought I did too. Freshman year, when I discovered eBay, I bid on a couple copies and won 2. Gave one to my sis. We watched it and you know... the magic just wasn't there anymore, besides one or two inspired scenes. But the songs from the movie remain cool. And you know lyrics are good when they have "eo eo eo" in them. Video, eo, eo, eo, eo, eo, eo Ahhhumm, video, eo, eo, uh ho I see that rock and roll and all those old time movies Ahhhumm, video, eo, eo, uh ho I see the shadows in the twilight as they dance, la, la, la Ahhhumm, video, eo, eo, uh ho And look at me now, I'm burning up the steely wires -kip |
