Dear all,

I have just arrived safely back from DC, and I thank those of you who called or wrote for your love and concern. A large part of me feels like I should have stayed, or desperately raced to New York to help with the disaster in any way I could. My heart aches with each passing second that is so precious to the rescue efforts of the courageous and exhausted souls who are out there right now.

My instincts cry for justice. I only hope that the nation in its grief will be able to distinguish justice from vengeance, and that we do not fall into the same trap of misdirected and reckless hatred that provoked this tragedy in the first place. I wish everyone who will be remaining in DC the best of luck. Stay safe, hopeful, and helpful.
